Knee Conditions in Hauts-de-Seine
Dr Simon Tournemine
The knee is one of the body’s largest and most complex joints, playing an essential role in mobility, stability and weight-bearing. It is frequently affected by degenerative conditions such as knee osteoarthritis, as well as traumatic injuries including meniscal tears, cruciate ligament injuries, patellar dislocation and tendon disorders. Depending on the underlying pathology, surgical treatment may involve replacing the damaged joint with a knee replacement, repairing or reconstructing the cruciate ligaments, preserving or treating the meniscus, or restoring patellar stability to improve joint function and relieve pain.
During my Clinical Fellowship at the Orthopaedic Department of Cochin Hospital, a recognised referral centre for knee surgery, I developed particular expertise in cruciate ligament reconstruction, meniscal surgery and knee replacement procedures. I perform these operations using the latest surgical techniques, favouring minimally invasive approaches whenever appropriate and integrating Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols into patient care. This modern surgical strategy is designed to optimise functional recovery, reduce postoperative discomfort and enable patients to return to their daily activities and sporting practice as safely and efficiently as possible.
