Knee Surgery
The knee is a complex weight-bearing joint that is frequently affected by degenerative conditions such as osteoarthritis and by traumatic injuries including meniscal tears, cruciate ligament ruptures, patellar instability and tendon disorders. Surgical treatment is tailored to the underlying pathology and may involve replacing the damaged joint with a knee replacement, reconstructing injured ligaments, preserving or repairing the meniscus, restoring patellar stability, correcting lower limb alignment or treating cartilage lesions in order to relieve pain, restore joint function and facilitate a safe return to daily activities and sport.
During my Clinical Fellowship at the Orthopaedic Department of Cochin Hospital, a recognised referral centre for knee surgery, I developed particular expertise in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, meniscal preservation and repair, as well as primary and revision knee replacement surgery. I perform these procedures using the latest surgical techniques, favouring minimally invasive approaches whenever appropriate and incorporating Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols into patient care. These modern strategies are designed to minimise surgical trauma, optimise functional outcomes and support a faster, safer recovery tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
