Knee Surgery
The knee is one of the body’s most complex and heavily loaded joints, making it particularly susceptible to both degenerative conditions and traumatic injuries. Common disorders include knee osteoarthritis, meniscal tears, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, patellar instability and a range of tendon disorders. Depending on the underlying diagnosis, surgical management may involve joint replacement for advanced osteoarthritis, reconstruction of damaged ligaments, meniscal preservation or repair, cartilage restoration procedures, or surgery to restore patellar stability and normal knee function.
During my Clinical Fellowship at the renowned Orthopaedic Department of Cochin Hospital, a recognised referral centre for knee surgery, I developed advanced expertise in cruciate ligament reconstruction, meniscal surgery and knee replacement procedures. I perform these operations using the latest surgical techniques, favouring minimally invasive approaches whenever appropriate and integrating Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols into patient care. This comprehensive approach is designed to optimise surgical outcomes, reduce postoperative pain and facilitate a faster, safer recovery, allowing patients to return more quickly to their daily activities and sporting pursuits where appropriate.
